Red-crowned Cranes

This was a commissioned work for the handbook and flyer design for a recent academic conference in China. Native to the misty wetlands of northeastern China, the red-crowned crane (Grus japonensis) is a large-sized bird with elegant posture. However, its beauty is difficult to seek in the wild due to its rarity. Gladly, there has been international efforts on protecting the endangered species. Yet more actions are needed to save their natural habitats from diminishing.

Fun fact: the long, black feathers are not the tail--they are actually the secondary flight feathers on the wings!
